Therapy

OUR PHILOSOPHY

It can be so easy to take life for granted.

Things move at such a spectacularly fast pace, it can be overwhelming. Sound familiar? It doesn’t have to be that way. You are in control of your journey and you deserve to have a wonderful life.
Maybe you’re in a dark place. Maybe someone you care about is suffering and you need some support to keep fighting. Whatever the scenario, our work together can make a difference. Read on to find our more about different people and scenarios I commonly work with.

What I do

Health Related Therapy

When a health crisis or diagnosis hits, the life you and your family knew is over and suddenly – without your desire or permission – there is a whole new reality to navigate. That new reality can feel daunting and heartbreaking, putting stress on your closest relationships. Moments like these can feel lonely, but you are not alone in this process. In our time together, we will work together to give you and your family space to begin the healing process, face the changes that have occurred, and make plans for how to move forward. There is a full and rich life waiting for you after a health crisis and I would love to help you find it.

To get an idea of what falls into the broad category of a health crisis, below are a few (very few!) examples:

  • Stroke & heart attack survivors
  • Arthritis and joint pain
  • Traumatic accident or injury
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Cancer

Type I Diabetes Related Therapy

At age 4, I was diagnosed with type I diabetes and those first days of being in the hospital are amongst my first vivid memories. I remember the confusion, anger, and tears that I experienced, as well as the looks on my parents’ faces. It was a very difficult time for our family and if your family is going through the same thing, you know what I’m talking about. Now, as an adult therapist, I have a special place in my heart for working with families, teens and adults who are recovering from the shock of a diagnoses or trying hard to have a normal life as they fight the daily battle to be a healthy diabetic. You’re not alone with this disease. There is hope and profound possibility for a beautiful, healthy life as a diabetic and I can help you get there. You deserve support on the road to health and wholeness, and together we can do just that.

General Therapy

Allow me to explain this “general therapy” category: while the majority of my practice is geared towards working with health related issues, I reserve space in my schedule to work with individuals and families who are searching for balance, wellness and change. In our time together, I consider it my job to hold space for you to more deeply discover yourself and who you want to be in this world. My approach is to listen within and beyond your hopes and struggles in the present and for the future, while also weaving in the patterns and dynamics from your past and history. My goal is to help you reach your goals!
